When it comes to design, your choice of color palette is pretty important. You want your hues to be harmonious and to give your overall piece the right feel. I am a huge fan of Adobe Kuler when it comes to experimenting and exploring color palettes. But, did you know that Adobe Kuler also had an amazing app?
What I love about the Adobe Kuler app is that you can take one of your own images, or any photo that inspires you, and turn into a great color palette in a snap!
I'll give you a quick demo of how this handy little app works....All you'll need is an iphone and a free adobe ID
So let's say you're chilling poolside in your chucks on a beautiful, sunny afternoon and you feel inspired.
The color of the sky is a beautiful gradient of blue, and the palm trees are a vibrant green. You can whip out your phone and take a quick photo, or simply enter the phone into live mode.
The app will then detect the colors and intuitively create a color scheme based from your photo.
Once you're satisfied, hit the check mark, and your new color theme will be saved to your account for future use. As you can see, you can keep an entire collection of themes!
If you use other Adobe applications, you can also download your new theme into the software, for example Photoshop!
Finally, create a cool image based off your color theme .
So next time you see an inspiring color palette, pull your phone out and snag a new theme to use on future projects. Happy creating!!
